Kasarani match-days are generally orderly, with visible police and private stewarding at every gate. The highest-risk periods are the turnstile crush 2 hours before kickoff and the car-park exits at full time, where pickpockets target distracted fans. On-site medical cover includes St John Ambulance Kenya and the National Police Service for big fixtures. The 2025 AFCON refurbishment widened exit gates and added permanent medical bays at every block.
- security Body and bag search at every gate. Police may pause entry if a block reaches capacity — comply, do not push forward.
- payments Keep cash and phone split across two pockets. The turnstile queue is the main pickpocket zone.
- warning Do not wear the away team's colours in the Russia Terrace home end. Mashemeji Derby segregation is strict.
- medical_services St John Ambulance Kenya is on-site at every Harambee Stars match. First-aid bays at every stairwell.
- do_not_disturb Follow steward directions at full time. Staggered exits are mandatory after the AFCON 2027 protocol update.

Historical Significance
Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani opened in August 1987 for the fourth All-Africa Games, hosted by Kenya and staged almost entirely at the new complex. The Chinese government funded and built the stadium as a diplomatic project, with the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design leading the design and China's international construction arm completing the build in under two years. The ground was named after Daniel arap Moi, Kenya's second president, and has served as the Harambee Stars primary home ever since. It hosted the 1996 CECAFA Cup, the 2013 IAAF World Youth Championships, and has been Gor Mahia's default marquee venue for Mashemeji Derby fixtures that outgrow Nyayo. Kasarani is currently under refurbishment ahead of AFCON 2027, which Kenya will co-host with Tanzania and Uganda — the first AFCON to reach East Africa in four decades.
