Built by Africans, for Africans, about African football.
Afroduma is the home African football deserves — with local voices on the byline, not wire-service recaps written from somewhere else.
Why we started this
African football is one of the most passionate, complicated, joyful stories in global sport. The NPFL, GPL, PSL and KPL produce legends every season. Nigerian forwards light up the Champions League. Moroccan tactics change how World Cups are played. Women's football is growing faster here than anywhere on earth.
And yet, the coverage is thin. Most English-language writing about African football is produced far from the stadiums — pulled from press releases, recycled across wire services, untouched by anyone who actually grew up watching Enyimba play Kano Pillars in the rain.
We built Afroduma to fix that. Not with algorithms. Not with AI slop. With real African writers who know the clubs, the coaches, the politics of each federation, and the sound a local stadium makes when the home side scores.
Our job is to give them a home, an audience, and the tools to earn a living from their craft. Readers get coverage that's actually from here. Writers get a brand page that ranks, a seat in a community, and a cut of every signup they drive. Brands get access to audiences they cannot reach anywhere else.
It's not complicated. It's a digital loom — threading together the people, the places, the stories. Your city. Your sport. Your voice.
Four principles
Local voice, first
Every post has a human byline from someone on the continent. No wire rewrites. No AI slop posing as analysis. If a writer hasn't been to the stadium, they say so.
Writers get paid
Tips, subscriptions, affiliate, sponsored — four income streams. The split is transparent and tilts heavily in the writer's favour. We'd rather have 100 well-paid writers than 10,000 unpaid ones.
Disclosure always
Sponsored posts carry visible disclosure and rel="sponsored". We never sell "fixed match" tips. If money changed hands for coverage, readers see it before the first paragraph.
Safe community
Zero tolerance for hate speech, tribal insults, or match-fixing promotion. Betting content is 18+ only and paired with clear responsible gambling guidance.
