Fan Culture

Kenyan football fandom is built on two pillars: tribal-cultural club identity (Luo K'Ogalo vs Luhya Ingwe in the Mashemeji Derby) and diaspora-tech organisation (Harambee Stars matchday parties across London, Dubai, Austin and Minneapolis). Live match viewing in Nairobi is largely a pub-and-SportPesa-kiosk culture. FKF Premier League attendance (2,900 average) is below the NPFL and GPL, but consistently rising with Kasarani renovations.

Women's football

Kenya's women's football programme has been growing steadily since the 2010s. Vihiga Queens became the first Kenyan women's club to appear at the CAF Women's Champions League (2021). Harambee Starlets have reached WAFCON twice (2016, 2022) but have yet to qualify for a FIFA Women's World Cup. The FKF's 'Road to AFCON 2027' plan includes a parallel women's development track.
