Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-04-28
Welcome to Afroduma. By accessing or using afroduma.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Afroduma is a community platform for African football coverage, discussion, and content created by African writers. The Service includes the public website, the forum, writer profile pages, and any associated mobile or API interfaces.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to register an account, post content, or participate in any activity that involves gambling-related information. Users under 18 may read public pages but may not sign up or comment.
3. User accounts & content
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your profile, for the security of your password, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You retain copyright in the original content you publish on Afroduma, but grant Afroduma a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, distribute, excerpt, and promote that content across our site, social channels, and newsletter.
You agree not to post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, sexually explicit, or designed to deceive. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these rules or our community standards.
4. Community standards
- No hate speech, tribal insults, or discrimination of any kind.
- No fixed-match tips, match-fixing promotion, or content that encourages illegal gambling.
- No spam, scraped content, or AI-generated content passed off as human-written.
- No doxxing, harassment, or sharing private information without consent.
- All sponsored content must carry a visible disclosure.
5. Gambling content & advertising
Afroduma publishes editorial content about betting markets and may display advertising from licensed betting operators. We do not take bets, hold customer funds, or operate any gambling service ourselves. Any links to bookmakers are affiliate links disclosed via rel="sponsored". See our Responsible Gambling guidance.
6. Payments, tips & subscriptions
Revenue shares for Tips, Subscriptions, Affiliate links, and Sponsored content are defined in the For Writers page and the Author Tiers spec. Disputes around payouts must be raised within 30 days of the payout cycle in question. Payouts are made in USD unless otherwise agreed.
7. Intellectual property
The Afroduma name, logo, brand marks, site design, code, and compilation of content are owned by Afroduma or its licensors. You may not reproduce substantial portions of the site without written permission. Individual posts may be quoted under normal editorial fair use with attribution.
8. Image attribution
Afroduma uses images from multiple sources. We credit each source here and on individual pages where the image metadata requires it.
- Stitch AI. Design mock-ups, abstract hero graphics, and illustrative artwork are generated via Google's Stitch AI design system and used under Stitch's standard licence for the originating Afroduma project. These assets are marked with the "Stitch" source tag in our image metadata.
- Wikipedia Commons — Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) and CC-BY-SA. Player and club photos, crest images, stadium photographs, and historical images sourced from Wikimedia Commons are used under the terms of each file's specific Creative Commons licence. Each such image is credited inline with the photographer or uploader's name, the source URL, and the applicable licence. Where the licence requires ShareAlike, derivative works using that image inherit the CC-BY-SA obligation.
- Unsplash — Unsplash License (CC0-equivalent). Generic stock photography — crowds, match-day atmosphere, textures — is sourced from Unsplash under the Unsplash License, which allows free commercial and non-commercial use. We credit the photographer and link back to the original Unsplash page as a courtesy, even though attribution is not strictly required.
- Club and league marks. Club crests, league logos, and national team badges are used under editorial fair-use principles for the purpose of identifying the entity being discussed. Trademark rights remain with the respective owners. No endorsement is implied.
- Wikimedia Commons — CC-BY, CC-BY-SA, CC0, Public Domain. Player portraits, stadium aerials, and selected editorial photography are sourced from Wikimedia Commons under free-culture licences. Each such image is credited to the original photographer where required by the licence. Full per-image credits are maintained in our internal registry and available on request.
If you believe any image on this site is used in violation of copyright or licence terms, please email [email protected] with the URL, the image in question, and evidence of ownership. We will review and remove or re-credit within 7 business days.
9. DMCA & takedown
To submit a takedown notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (or equivalent local law), email [email protected] with: the copyrighted work, the URL of the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, and a statement signed under penalty of perjury that you are authorised to act.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Editorial content is for information and entertainment; it is not financial, medical, legal, or gambling advice. Past performance does not predict future results. Always verify facts independently before making decisions.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Afroduma will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of USD 100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon deletion, your profile page is removed; published posts may be anonymised or removed at your request within 30 days.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Afroduma is incorporated. Disputes will be resolved by negotiation first, then by binding arbitration in English. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect legal, technical, or product changes. When we make material changes, we will post a notice on the homepage and email active writers. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
